Uzungol has 99 km distance to Trabzon and 19 km distance to Caykara district, and is located at 1090 m above sea level. Rocks in the middle of valley which fell from the slopes blocked Haldizen river's way and formed "Uzungol" lake, after which the region was named. Especially the old wooden houses, which were built in local style of "Serah" village in the region, is in complete harmony with the nature's beauty. Hagia Sophia Mosque; The building which is being used as a mosque today was built during I. Manuel Komnenos period (1238-1263). Following the conquest of Trabzon in 1461 by Mehmet the Conqueror, it was converted to a mosque and became a foundation work. Sera Lake has approximately 4 km length and 150 m width, while its deepest place is 55m. It was formed as the result of a landslide at 3 km. distance to the coast, which blocked the path of Sera River Valley, which used to fall to the sea. The interesting detail is, all change happened in few days in front of local people's eyes. Atatürk Kiosk is located within a small pine grove of Soğuksu district, and was built just at the beginning of 20. century. Atatürk was hosted at this kiosk during his visit to Trabzon in 1934 and 1937 years. After Great Leader's death, it was opened to visit by being converted to a museum by Trabzon Municipality. Boztepe is a unique location with its panoramic scenery, which provides shelter from the crowds of the city.
